Adam & Annie: New Parenthood

Monday, August 29, 2011

Gaahhhh! This is such a beautiful session I'm excited to share with you. Adam and Annie are about to be first time parents and I love how excited they are to have their new little girl. They still have a couple of months to go, but we decided to sneak in this shoot before a move. Annie is such a beautiful pregnant mama and Adam a proud-daddy-to-be. Good luck, you two! You will be fantastic parents.

Lora + Dan: Couples Session

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

I can barely contain my excitement to finally show this session to you! In fact, perhaps I'm not effective in containing my excitement at all, cause I could't help but show you about a bazillion images . . . It was impossible to narrow it down to a descent-sized post . . . I loved them all! And I love Lora and Dan. They are such a great couple and so much fun! They've been married for a couple years now and wanted to get some updated photos of them done (LOVE!), and I must say, they sure rocked their session. Gorgeous couple + fun, colorful location + lots of laughing, smiling, kissing = blow-your-socks-off session! Enjoy!

Notice: Change is a Comin'

So, this was a really hard decision for me to make. And I'm not very good at making decisions in the first place . . . most of the time I'd rather someone make them for me :) But I figure its a good thing to do every now and then, so I've been thinking about where I want to take my business now that it is off its feet and is really growing. I'm so happy with the things I've learned and the ways I've grown and its amazing to look back even a year ago at the pictures I was taking and how vastly different they were. Now I've defined my style and really found myself as a photographer.

And now here come the 'Notice' part. As part of my defining-myself-as-a-photographer, I've come to realize that as much as I love photographing families and children, wedding photography and portraiture is where my heart truly lies. There is something within me that gets all excited and giddy when I have those lovey-dovey couples and newly-weds in front of my camera and I can't wait to get home to edit the pictures, and put them up on here for the world to see! So . . . I will no longer be offering family and child photographs. Sigh. I know. Its hard for me to let go, too. But this will be a good thing, I promise :) I'm so excited to see where this new focus takes me and my photography!

And just because posts are always better with a picture, here's a peek at one of my last baby sessions I've been working on:

The Madsen Family!

Thursday, August 11, 2011

I've probably said this before, and I'll say it again (cause its true as ever): I love photographing families! It is so fun for me to watch each family, see their family dynamic and how they interact with each other. The Madsens were no exception! I love it when all-grown-up siblings still joke around and play with each other . . . cause isn't it just so terrible when people 'grow out of' their families? Yup, I think so. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
